Whisper hires Chris Hurst to strengthen digital team

Whisper has strengthened its digital team by hiring Chris Hurst as Digital Strategy Director.

Chris brings over 15 years of digital and multi-platform strategy experience, having worked for the Premier League, International Cricket Council, Nielsen Sports and BBC Sport, where he oversaw the BBC’s digital development and social media offer for high profile events including the Rio Olympics in 2016.

 Chris’ wealth of experience further strengthens Whisper’s offering to broadcasters and rights holders looking to develop their multi-platform offer and enhances its digital focus for both existing clients and future business.

Whisper has a strong record in creating digital content for a number of broadcasters and clients, including the NFL, Premier League, Red Bull, FA, BBC and Channel 4.

 Chris will work as part of a dedicated in-house team who already provide regular content across Formula One, the NFL, SailGP and Women’s Football coverage.

Chris will continue to run his own digital sports business, C J Hurst Consultancy, alongside his position at Whisper, as well as fulfilling his roles as a non-executive director of the Rugby Football League and a trustee of the Women’s Sport Trust.

Whisper’s current sports and live events portfolio includes Formula 1, Rugby World Cup, SailGP, W Series, Women’s Super League, NFL and The 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. It has offices in London, Cardiff and Maidenhead and is a Broadcast Best Places to Work 2017, 2018 and 2019.
